A boy’s journey continues to Andromeda
A year of 2xxx, it was an area when many people make their bodies mechanized to prolong the longevity. Tetsuro Hoshi can not make his body mechanized because of his poverty. He had his mother get killed by Count Machine. A mysterious beautiful lady, Metel, takes Tetsuro, who became all alone in the world, into the Galaxy Express 999, to the planet where anybody can get his body mechanized.
During the journey to infinite space, Tetsuro stops by various planets and experiences mysterious encounters and farewells.
It was made into an animation and a movie, which keeps it popularity even now.
