Hajime Kindaichi, a grandson of master detective Kosuke Kindaichi is a genius with 180 IQs but has poor grades at school. Whenever he is with his friend, Miyuki Nanase, he gets involved with scary cases that connected to strange old legends, histories and mysterious fates, just like his grandfather.
Hajime solves various cases with detective powers that inherited by his grandfather with people from the police, a chief inspector Kenmochi, a deputy inspector Akechi, his idle Reika Hayami, his junior Ryuji Saki, a reporter Yosuke Itsuki, his cousin Fumi Kindaichi. His rival is Yoichi Takato who is called “an artist of crime; a puppet master from hell.
The series were completed once but restarted after remodeling lightly. A novel version and series with a deputy inspector Akechi as a main character becomes a hit as well. I was made into an animation and also live version dramas, in which Hajime was acted by Johnny’s’ boys
